5 Ingredient no bake energy balls
People are always asking me for advice on quick, easy and nutritious snack choices. There are now several companies making energy balls which are readily available in most supermarkets, but they are super expensive!
So I have come up with this recipe, it takes 5 minutes, they keep in the fridge for up to 10 days, you need only 5 basic ingredients, and they taste incredible (my husbands favourite!) they are ideal to take out and about and really do give you a hit of energy without any refined sugar (so no sugar crash!)
You can experiment with different dried fruits, different types of nut butters, or try adding chopped nuts, dates or cocoa powder.
These are seriously the easiest things you will make and are sure to be a firm favourite with the whole family.
60g of porridge oats
25g of desiccated coconut
30g of dark chocolate chips or raisins (or mix of both)
50g of honey
60g of nut butter* (I use peanut butter but any will work)
1. Add all ingredients to a bowl and mix well to combine
2. Take a desert spoon full of mixture and roll in to a ball
3. Repeat with the rest of the mixture (you should get between 8 & 10 balls)
4. Chill in the fridge for at least 30 mins & then devour!
*You may need to add a little more or less nut butter depending on how runny the brand you have is, the consistency should be slightly sticky, but not so much that you are unable to form a ball
